Basketball and Tennis Court Renovation Project

The proposed redevelopment features premium quality court surfaces, tennis nets, and basketball hoops. Between the state-of-the-art perimeter drainage system and weather-proof materials, the redevelopment is projected to add 20+ years of longevity to this community hub. Scroll down to find out why we're completing this project.

In July 2020, the Serbian Ethnic Legacy Organization (SELO) launched an initiative to revitalize the basketball and tennis courts at St. George Church in Niagara Falls. This marked SELO's inaugural project for its mandate to create and maintain local Serbian-owned community hubs.

The proposed redevelopment features premium quality court surfaces, tennis nets, and basketball hoops. Between the state-of-the-art perimeter drainage system and weather-proof materials, the redevelopment is projected to add 20+ years of longevity to this community hub.

Here are 6 reasons why SELO has decided to pursue this project...

  1. Revenue – These upgrades allow the church to generate passive revenue through court rentals. This strategy has proven to be effective through the success of the church’s soccer field rental system.
  2. Future Serbian Stars – This state-of-the-art facility is the ideal location for rising Serbian athletes to train and develop their skills.
  3. Teams & Clubs – The new facility would allow for the creation of competitive tennis and basketball teams to compete on behalf of the church and its members.
  4. Community Impact – These court upgrades would create a strong community hub for Serbian youth and encourage their participation in future SELO projects.
  5. Equal Usage – The existing courts have been well used for the past decade, however, the tennis court was heavily favored. These upgrades would bring both courts up to date and encourage equal usage.
  6. Longevity – These upgrades are designed to resist the harsh elements of frigid winters and scorching summers in the Niagara Region. This design is projected to yield over 20 years of longevity for the next generation of Serbs.

Overall, the project will cost ~$40,000 and be completed by 2021. If you are interested in making a donation, contact us here.
