We are looking for members who come from a Serbian background or demonstrate an appreciation and knowledge of Serbian heritage, as assessed by our Executive Council. We have a selection of three membership opportunities that range in responsibilities and expectations.
The Serbian Ethnic Legacy Organization (SELO) was founded to preserve, celebrate, and advance Serbian heritage in the diaspora. The organization seeks to achieve this goal by hosting events, offering education, and creating local community hubs.
We are looking for members who come from a Serbian background, or demonstrate an appreciation and knowledge of Serbian heritage, as assessed by our Executive Council. We have a selection of three membership opportunities that range in responsibilities and expectations.
General Membership – These members are the lifeblood of SELO. Our general members are actively involved in hosting events, offering education, and creating local community hubs for our Serbian community. These members have voting privileges at monthly general meetings and committees of SELO. You can apply for general membership at any time throughout the calendar year.
Executive Membership – These members are the core leadership of SELO. Positions include President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasure, and Communications Officer. General members may seek election for these positions at the SELO annual general meeting in March.
Student Membership – These members are the future of SELO. We value the voices and perspectives of Serbian youth. That's why we created the student membership to offer our next generation a discount on their general membership. You can apply for student membership at any time throughout the calendar year.
For more information on member roles and responsibilities see the SELO By-Laws.
